Internal vacancy

The RNLI actively promotes continuous development within the organisation and is only seeking applications from current RNLI employees and volunteers at this time.  If this position is not filled internally it may be re-advertised openly.  #LI-DNI

About Us:

Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. 24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue.

Our Recruitment Team is part of the People Services (HR) team and supports the organisation to attract and recruit the best people to help deliver our goals; not only in the skills they bring to the organisation, but also in the values and behaviours they uphold and demonstrate.

Would you like to find out more about recruitment at the RNLI, while gaining some new skills and experience? If so, you could be the person we are looking for to support the RNLI recruitment team for the next 3 months.

We are passionate about supporting internal development, and while one of our team is doing an internal secondment, we’d like to offer the opportunity to someone internally to join us for 3 months, on a part-time, temporary basis.

We are open to discussing how the role is delivered and are looking at a mixture of options, so please detail your availability and preferred working pattern within your application. Internal applicants are welcome to contact the Recruitment Manager (Kevin Barnard) to discuss this in advance of applying.

About the Role:

Working as a Recruitment Administrator, you will be part of a team of 5, supporting the recruitment processes for all areas of the organisation, and will:

  • Support the recruitment team by providing an administration service.
  • Monitor the recruitment inbox, dealing with or forwarding queries as appropriate.
  • Communicate with job applicants by email, via the recruitment system, and by phone.
  • Answer the main recruitment phoneline.
  • Grow and use your recruitment process knowledge.
  • Ensure recruitment at the RNLI is consistent, fair, transparent and inclusive, promoting the RNLI as an employer of choice to all applicants whether successful or not.
  • Use various IT systems, including our applicant tracking system Hireserve, as well as Microsoft programmes including Word, Excel and Outlook.

About You:

To support us as Recruitment Administrator and work with a broad range of RNLI people, you will need:

  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to put the customer (hiring managers and candidates) at the heart of everything you do
  • Strong administration skills.
  • The ability to effectively prioritise whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work well within a team.
