We’re looking for a Lead Integration Developer to join our Data Services and Integration team. This team supports the RNLI through the delivery of the integration roadmap in order to align our data services and enhance our data self-serve capabilities.

Your role
As Lead Integration Developer, you will be responsible for leading a small team of Integration Developers in the creation, support, and optimisation of integrations between applications and data stores. Key areas of focus will be to:
- Design, develop, and implement robust APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that enable data exchange and interactions between various software systems.
- Enhance API specifications, documentation, and guidelines to ensure consistent and effective API usage, supporting our data users in this process and driving best practices.
- Collaborate with business analysts and IT teams to gather integration requirements and translate them into effective API integration solutions. Bring the team of Integration Developers along this journey to understand the end-to-end development process.
- Build integrations that support real-time data synchronization, automate processes, and enhance user experiences.
- Define data mapping and transformation logic to ensure accurate and seamless data flow between integrated systems with different data structures and formats.
- Manage API lifecycle, versioning, and access control to ensure security and compliance.
About you
You’ll be a technology specialist with a solid background in the design and development of end-to-end data centric solutions who has strong communication skills and an enthusiasm for knowledge growth in the data space. Used to working with non-technical people on one side and technicians on the other, you will have a drive to support others within your team and provide strategic steer to the integration space.
To be considered as our Lead Integration Developer you will need:
- A degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent level of experience).
- Proven experience as an API Integration Developer or similar role, with a focus on designing, developing, and optimising APIs.
- Proficiency in API development and integration using technologies such as REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML.
- Familiarity with API management tools and platforms.
- Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, and synchronization techniques.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve integration issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and your team.
