About Us
Our purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Across the UK & Ireland the RNLI is recognised for our lifesaving work from rescue and supervision to education and prevention. An essential part of making this happen is to make sure the IT equipment and systems support all our activities, and that RNLI IT team is able to support all our users, volunteers and supporters. The RNLI uses primarily Microsoft software, rolling out new technologies across business systems and investing in upgrading our core capabilities.
The Service Desk provides first and some second line support for desktop services; Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 11, Office 365, client hardware, software and mobile phones. We are looking for a First Line Support Administrator to work within our IT Service Desk team.
About You
Although prior technical proficiency is advantageous, training will be given. However, you will have a passion for customer service, enjoy building customer relationships and like to go out of your way to help people and solve their problems. A great telephone manner is a must.
Knowledge of the RNLI is beneficial as you will be assisting all RNLI staff and volunteers along our Stations, Regional Bases and Support Centres. You will also be talking to other support teams around the organisation to enable you to answer the queries that come into the team. To meet this need, the team works from 07.45 to 18.00 hrs, and you will be expected to cover varying shifts within these times.
