We’re recruiting for a Senior Engineer (Maintenance) to join the Engineering team and provide technical knowledge and expertise for new and existing assets and associated equipment, to support our crews and coastal operations.

Your role

As a Senior Engineer (Maintenance) you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:

  • To lead the development and continuous improvement of maintenance documentation, ensuring accuracy, usability, and availability to all users.
  • To develop and release maintenance plans aligned with asset strategies, enabling effective and efficient delivery of maintenance activities across the organisation.
  • To drive continuous professional development, through the adoption of industry-standard techniques, advanced technologies, data analytics, and reliability-centred maintenance principles.
  • To act as a liaison with coastal teams, engineering stakeholders, and volunteers to promote collaborative working and joint understanding.
  • To provide technical assurance and oversight as a senior engineering signatory, maintaining high-quality standards under delegated design authority.
  • To mentor and support engineers, fostering a culture of learning, accountability, and technical excellence.
  • To support the various E&S delivery and project teams and to work with the IDT Lead to ensure work is completed to agreed timescales and that processes and procedures are followed.

About you

You’ll be a strong team player able to problem solve and think analytically whilst handling a demanding workload with changing priorities. You’ll be operating within a high-profile department and liaising right across our organisation, as well as with external organisations and suppliers. Your commitment to helping us produce safe, accurate, and cost-effective Maintenance solutions will be key.

To be considered for the Senior Engineer (Maintenance) role you will need:

  • Significant experience of maintaining complex engineering assets.
  • Experience in a range of maintenance strategies, methodologies, and technologies, including Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM II).
  • Experience in understanding the practical differences between work as imagined and work as done.
  • Experience in quality and compliance assurance through the application of relevant policies, processes, & standards.
  • Delivery of high levels of customer satisfaction through focus on customer need.
  • Significant experience in data management systems i.e., SolidWorks manage etc. and conventional office applications (especially word).

Desirable:

Significant experience in the production of technical documentation for complex assets (i.e., marine, aerospace, rail, logistics etc.).

Experience in using technical illustration software such as SolidWorks Composer.
