About the role
As our Safety Communications and Engagement Lead, you will report to the SHE Training & Engagement Manager within the Safety Team. You will be responsible for the following key elements:
- Organisational safety related communications. Taking input from volunteer and staff advocates to create and maintain a suite of tools and resources to share learning and influence behaviours.
- Develop engagement and communication resources, including publications and campaigns, using a risk-based approach to target interventions and ensure the greatest effect on keeping our people safe.
- Engagement – updating and engaging with teams and departments, prompting discussion and the wider involvement of our people to drive improvements to keep our people safe.
- Information Management – Ensuring safety information from the safety team is up to date and accessible via internal platforms. Overseeing the development and management of the Safety Team SharePoint site, including access to documents to promote collaborative working amongst the team and stakeholders from across the organisation.
- SHE support to the organisation - offering support, advice and guidance on a range of SHE topics.
About you
To be considered for the role of Safety Communications and Engagement Lead, you will need to be able to demonstrate:
- significant communications and engagement experience within a large organisation or complex environment using different communication methods to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- experience of influencing others to move toward a common vision or goal.
- experience in providing organisational safety advice, support and guidance and developing / implementing elements of a Safety Management System would be advantageous.
- proficient in the use of SharePoint.
You will be confident providing written and oral briefings to senior leaders, managers and volunteers and will be someone who can inspire, influence and adapt with a ‘can-do’ attitude in a dynamic organisational environment.
This post requires a valid driving licence.
