An exciting opportunity has become available to join us as our new Regional Business Lead in our South West region.  Leading on four key areas of regional delivery – safety, quality, finance and service delivery - this role provides critical support to RNLI Lifesaving teams, ensuring all of these core functions are in place to undertake their lifesaving work.

About the role 

In this role you will be supporting the Head of Region (HOR) and Regional Leadership Team responsible for the delivery of safe, sustainable, and effective core regional services, through oversight of daily operations and implementation of RNLI strategic priorities.

You will be responsible to the Head of Region (HOR) for activities including:

  • adherence to operational strategies and objectives,
  • financial management,
  • ensuring all policies and quality standards are met,
  • analysing, and improving performance data and coordination of all regional business.
  • optimising regional efficiency through streamlining processes, improving efficiencies and effective collaboration with central departments to coordinate and improve cross-functional initiatives.

About you 

This leadership role would suit someone who is a team player, with very strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills, capable of working under pressure to tight deadlines, and experienced working with complex structures and compliance requirements. Financial management and business planning also need to be strong skills.

Your application should demonstrate: 

  • Experience in business management and/or financial planning within multi-functional environment.
  • Experience in operational leadership and change management
  • Experience in driving organisational effectiveness
  • Competence in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with business management and financial principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Leadership ability
  • Outstanding organisational skills

It is also desirable that you have

  • Ability to effectively manage the allocation of resources across different functions.
  • Experience within an operational environment, particular awareness of risk management processes.
  • Experience of working within project/programme environments and/or project/programme management experience

Occasional travel and overnight stays across the region and other regional locations will also be required as part of the role.
