We’re looking for a Programme Office Governance Manager to join our Digital Transformation team for up to 2 years, to ensure our Digital Transformation Programme is effectively and efficiently managed in accordance with the defined methodology to deliver the programme benefits on time, to budget and to the specified quality.

Your Role

As a Programme Office Governance Manager, you will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating the Digital Transformation programme governance, including planning, risk and issue management, and programme wide reporting in conjunction with the Programme Manager to ensure delivery to time, cost and quality, across all the workstreams within the programme.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Defining, implementing and establishing programme governance/drumbeat and streamlining consistent ways of working, maintaining alignment to best practice.
  • Facilitating the identification, capture and management of programme and workstream risks, issues and the associated mitigations, ensuring escalations are made to the Programme Manager when required.
  • Support programme planning establishing a method for allocating, tracking and analysing resource utilisation.
  • Set up and maintain Sharepoint sites, document libraries and collaboration spaces ensuring all documentation is version controlled, accessible and auditable.
  • Ownership of workstream reporting process ensuring timely collation and production of programme reports.
  • Responsible for managing relationships with key stakeholders ensuring they are kept well informed and any issues or blockers raised are dealt with in a timely and effective manner.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills to drive the programme forward and ensure appropriate measures are in place to manage and  track risks and issues that impact progress.
  • Prepare board packs and content for regular management reporting and communications to stakeholders, ensuring documentation is relevant and timely and stored in alignment with agreed standards.
  • Proactively manage and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority and deliver key informative documentation to aid decision making.
  • Support the programme team with the definition of the programme benefits and identify how these will be monitored and measured throughout the lifecycle of the programme through to realisation

About You

We are looking for someone who is an effective team player with a pragmatic approach to problem solving and a calm approach to a busy workload.

To be considered as our new Programme Office Governance Manager you will need

  • Substantial experience in managing governance in large scale business improvement programmes with tangible outputs and benefits.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project and programme management. 
  • Experience of the whole programme life cycle, from the scoping through to implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Ability to motivate the organisation and project team to meet stretch deadlines.
  • It is also desirable that you have a Practitioner Qualification (Prince 2 / MSP/ P30)
