About Us 

The RNLI is a charity dedicated to saving lives at sea. We provide a 24/7 search and rescue service, lifeguard some of our busiest beaches, educate communities on water safety, and work tirelessly to reduce drowning incidents. As a Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering digital solutions that support our mission, helping our volunteers and staff to gain and drive value from technology so that we can save every one.

About the role 

In this exciting new role you will: 

  • Be responsible for defining, developing, and delivering digital products that enhance the RNLI’s operations, improve efficiency, and support our lifesaving efforts.  
  • You will work closely with stakeholders, development teams, and end-users to ensure our digital tools meet the needs of the organization and the communities we serve, developing roadmaps that provide the RNLI and its lifesaving and fundraising teams the capabilities that they need to deliver on our strategy and plans.  
  • You will also be key in driving the adoption, optimisation and continuous improvement of our bespoke applications. You will be close to our frontline teams, understanding how they interact with technology and the opportunities to improve their effectiveness, making it easy to undertake their roles for the RNLI.  
  • The successful candidate will be required to have an in-depth understanding of our frontline applications and be comfortable undertaking investigations, and acting as the key liaison between functional stakeholders and technical teams. 

About you 

Our ideal candidate for the role of Product Owner (Frontline Technology) will have: 

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software development life cycles. 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams. 
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. 
  • Familiarity with application architecture, UX principles, and industry best practices. 
  • Experience with product management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

  • Experience as a Product Owner
