About us

Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. 24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue.

We’re looking for a Clinical Training Lead to lead our Clinical Training Team. The Learning and Organisational Development Department supports the RNLI through ensuring our lifeboat crews and lifeguards are ready to help save lives, we train our crews and lifeguards to high levels of medical care which relies on exceptional training being delivered.

Your role

As a Clinical Training Lead, you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:

  • The day-to-day management of the Clinical Training Team, supporting their delivery of training across the UK and Ireland.
  • Conduct training verifications and performance reviews of the training team.
  • Preparing the team budget and ensuring spend is on track with the planned budget.
  • Planning, organising and delivery of operational clinical training courses that will ensure the safe and effective use of equipment and skills to volunteers and staff.
  • Leading the development of training interventions and associated materials to ensure content is matched to best practice
  • This role will involve extensive travel, providing training at lifeboat and lifeguard stations across the Scottish region, as well as travelling around the UK and ROI. An RNLI vehicle will be provided

About you

You’ll be a health care professional, with a high level of clinical experience and confidence in delivering Casualty Care in a marine/austere environment. To be considered as the Clinical Training Lead you will need:

  • To be a recently verified Casualty Care Trainer
  • Award in Education and Training or equivalent
  • HCPC/NMC Registered professional.
  • Prehospital Clinical experience
  • An understanding of the volunteer ethos
  • Experience of course design/planning
  • Willingness to work away from home, including evenings and weekends
