Overseeing and leading on the performance management, safety, compliance and assurance of the Fundraising and Communications directorate, you will ensure a real focus on ensuring our frameworks and systems are keeping all our people safe and compliant.
About the job
It is critical that every person feels safe whilst undertaking their roles as part of the RNLI. This new role will facilitate for that to happen across a diverse range of fundraising and communication roles and activities as well as ensuring that there is wider compliance across the directorate.
The directorate is made up of around 15,000 community fundraisers, events management, face-to face public fundraisers, retail operations teams , creative services, hotel and hospitality operations at our RNLI College, marketing, media and communications teams. Without doubt this is a broad and diverse set of regulatory requirements, risks to manage and performance to track.
Using the established RNLI frameworks for performance, safety, compliance, risk and policy management, you will be a visible and proactive leader, helping to ensure and support all our people to deliver on their accountabilities and responsibilities. Using your outstanding experience in this field and strong communication skills, you will engage widely with people.
The world of safety, compliance and assurance never stands still though, and at times you may need to get ‘your hands dirty’ with practical, ‘hands-on’ matters, particularly with new, emerging needs in an ever changing environment.
About you
To be equal to the challenge of this extremely wide-ranging position, you will require:
- Business Management qualifications to degree level (or equivalent experience).
- IOSH qualified (or equivalent qualifications / experience) and/or be willing to be trained in this qualification.
- Significant experience in managing and leading on the cultural and technical implementation of business operations and performance frameworks, specifically in safety, compliance and risk management.
- Proven experience of implementing and managing safety, compliance and risk management frameworks, with a strong working, up to date, knowledge.
- Developing plans and strategies to support and facilitate the delivery of organisational-wide frameworks for effective business operations.
- Demonstration of experience of change management and culture development, from senior leaders to front line teams.
- Demonstration of strong influencing, listening, negotiation and adaptability skills in a diverse, multi-disciplinary, dispersed team.
- Innate ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders at the most senior levels, coupled with a passion for excellence.
- Able to drive positive and profound change, through strong, credible leadership skills.
- A willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Republic of Ireland throughout the year.
