Our lifesavers need a dedicated, professional and talented team behind them, and that’s where you come in: We're looking for an Assistant Tax Manager to join the RNLI, to work as part of the Financial Governance team.

The Assistant Tax Manager will work with the Senior Tax Manager, and collaborate with departments across the RNLI, to provide a commercial and cost- effective tax reporting, support and analysis service to enable informed decision making by the Senior Leadership and their teams to help the RNLI deliver it’s lifesaving effect.

As an Assistant Tax Manager, you will work closely with the Senior Tax Manager and the wider Financial Governance teams to support the accuracy of the preparation and completion of the various tax and duty returns for the RNLI and its subsidiary companies, through high quality review of the tax transactions for both income and expenditure.

About the role 

As Assistant Tax Manager, you will assist and support the Senior Tax Manager in providing a tax, reporting and analysis service across the RNLI.

This will include:

  • The analysis, completion and submission of tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual basis.
  • Ensuring effective compliance with tax legislation, Charity Commission rules and accounting standards.
  • Providing tax advice, guidance and training for colleagues within the RNLI
  • Attending sector tax groups on behalf of the RNLI to receive and share best practice guidance across the organisation.

About you 

To be our Assistant Tax Manager, you will need:

  • To have completed or be working towards a recognised accounting qualification e.g. (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by significant experience.
  • Some experience of tax legislation and tax returns.
  • Significant accounting experience.
  • Good understanding of financial processes and controls.
  • Experience of educating both financial and non-financial staff on tax issues
