About us

Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. 24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Trusts and Grants team as a Trusts and Grants Executive to help us raise funds for our amazing cause.

Your role

As a Trusts and Grants Executive, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Trust and Grants team inbox.
  • Working with finance and accounting teams to ensure compliant and accurate recording of Trust donations.
  • Following defined guidelines and administrative processes, including financial reporting, monthly reconciliation and forecasting.
  • Supporting the team with administrative tasks including annual donor mailings, project information gathering and maintaining the supporter database.
  • Stewarding a portfolio of small and medium sized reactive trusts, updating and thanking as required.
  • Managing an annual mailing programme to low value trust donors encouraging uplift and repeat gifts.
  • Deputising for team members at Naming Ceremonies and donor engagement events when needed.

About you

You will be someone who combines great administrative, IT and organisational skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will be both a process and a people person who enjoys relationship management and being part of a team but with a keen eye for detail and natural resourcefulness to trouble-shoot and identify process efficiencies to ensure the smooth running of the team.

This is a predominantly desk-based, entry-level fundraising role where you will be pivotal in supporting a team of Trust and Grant Managers. There may be occasional travel for off-site meetings and events.

Safeguarding

The RNLI is committed to safeguarding; protecting a person’s health, wellbeing, and human rights, enabling them to live free from harm, abuse, and neglect. We expect all employees and volunteers to share this commitment and have a zero-tolerance approach. The suitability of all prospective employees and volunteers will be assessed during the recruitment process in line with this commitment. This will include relevant criminal record checks being carried out dependent on the eligibility of the role. (England & Wales; DBS check, Scotland; Disclosure Scotland PVG, Northern Ireland; Access NI, Republic of Ireland; Garda Vetting; International, International Child Protection Certificate process).

Diversity at the RNLI

Our staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for 200 years. We respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within our teams, and consider it essential to help us deliver a world-class lifesaving service. We are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, we also look for applicants who share our commitment to living our RNLI values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping us work towards Our Vision: To save Every One.
